Nottingham Forest sues Sky Sports over comments by Gary Neville – Mirror Online

The Midlands side recently expressed concerns about the appointment of Stuart Attwell to VAR and questioned the decision via a statement on social media. They brought attention to the referee’s allegiance to Luton Town, raising doubts about the integrity of the decision. PGMOL boss Howard Webb later acknowledged that one of the incidents should have resulted in a penalty kick.

Additionally, Sky pundit and commentator raised questions about Mark Clattenburg’s role as Forest’s referee analyst. The commentator mentioned that if Clattenburg endorsed or supported statements that question a referee’s integrity or label someone as a cheat for backing another club, it would compromise his credibility with other referees. There were calls for him to distance himself from such statements and stand down from his position.

In response to these criticisms, Gary Neville compared the situation to a “mafia-gang statement,” criticizing it for resembling the behavior of a petulant child. He expressed embarrassment at the actions, emphasizing that while criticism is part of their role, such behavior is unacceptable.
