Liverpool set to lose another key coaching staff member as close ally of Jurgen Klopp prepares to depart Anfield – Mirror Online

The 52-year-old has been a part of the club’s coaching staff since 2009. His current deal is set to expire this summer, and the former Tranmere keeper has announced his departure.

In an emotional statement, Achterberg confirmed his exit after 15 years at the club, expressing gratitude for the support and acknowledging the club’s manager, Jürgen Klopp, for his leadership and impact on the team’s success. Liverpool have enjoyed significant success during Achterberg’s time with the club, and he has had a significant influence on the goalkeeping department.

His departure marks the latest in a series of reshuffles at Anfield this summer. The Dutchman will bring along his own coaching staff as his move is formalized.

To leave LFC has been a tough decision for Achterberg, but after careful consideration, he feels it is time to pursue a new challenge. He gives thanks to the club’s owners and the manager for their support, expressing admiration for Klopp’s impact on the team.
