John Terry rejected Manchester United despite phone calls from Sir Alex Ferguson and his dad’s desire – Mirror Online

Terry was a teenager when he joined the Blues after a spell in West Ham’s academy. Terry’s father, a United fan, wanted him to move to Old Trafford rather than Stamford Bridge, but his efforts were in vain.

Terry credits Sir Alex Ferguson’s frequent calls to his family and him as “incredible”. Terry’s switch to Chelsea was driven by a strong sense of belonging, as he immediately felt that Chelsea was the right club for him.

Despite his father’s desire for him to join Manchester United, Terry followed his heart and joined Chelsea. The rest, as they say, is history.
