Xavi to Continue as Barcelona Manager while Club Requires Legend to Dismiss His Brother

Xavi is set to depart from Barcelona in June, announcing his decision after a defeat against Villarreal, citing the need for change and improvement within the club. He is expected to make his departure without his brother, Oscar Hernandez, with the club urging him to dismiss the assistant manager and a fitness coach. The club is reportedly encouraging Xavi to appoint a new number two, with Domenec Torrent, Pep Guardiola’s former assistant, being suggested as a potential candidate.

This recommendation comes after Torrent’s previous collaboration with Oscar at Al-Sadd and his involvement in bringing him to Catalunya in 2021. Barcelona’s recent performance, including a positive run in La Liga and success in the Champions League round of 16 against Napoli, contrasts with their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals. Despite their achievements, Liverpool’s coach, Jurgen Klopp, seems resolute in his decision not to leave the club for another English team, emphasizing his commitment to his current position.

Klopp’s firm stance aligns with his previous statements in 2019 about his dedication to his role, expressing that he can only give his all or take a break for a year when circumstances necessitate it. This resolute attitude indicates that he is unlikely to alter his plans, despite Barcelona’s interest.
