Amanda Staveley issues statement regarding Newcastle role after returning from trip to Saudi Arabia – Mirror Online

Amanda Staveley has confirmed that she is still a director at Newcastle United, addressing concerns that she had stepped down. After returning from a trip to Saudi Arabia, Staveley sought to alleviate any worries about her role with the club. She explained that the recent changes were purely administrative, affecting non-trading subsidiaries, and that she and Jamie remained on the ‘top-co’ and the Board.

Staveley also expressed gratitude for the support received over the years and for those who shared their thoughts. Her shareholding in the club was diluted from 10% to 6% due to cash injections by the Saudi Public Investment Fund and the Reuben family, fellow co-owners of the club. During her trip to Saudi Arabia, Staveley visited the Al-Qadsiah sports group and participated in an archery session with them.

The group is home to a football team that competes in the Saudi First Division League. Additionally, there is an invitation to join a new WhatsApp community for Mirror Football content, along with promises of special offers, promotions, and adverts. There is also a mention of a Privacy Notice for those who are curious.
