Everton penalized with a deduction of two points for violating Premier League financial regulations – Mirror Online

Everton Football Club has been docked two points by the Premier League Commission due to their breach of financial rules, dropping them to 16th place in the league table, below Brentford. This penalty was imposed despite the club’s efforts to present mitigating factors, including the impact of previous charges. The Club has expressed gratitude to the Fan Advisory Board and other fan groups for their input, and to all Evertonians for their continued patience and support.

They have also stated their intentions to appeal the Commission’s decision, with no further comments at this time. In a statement released, the Premier League mentioned that the independent Commission held a three-day hearing, during which they considered evidence and arguments from the club regarding its breach of £16.6 million. Following this, the Commission determined the appropriate sanction to be a two-point deduction, effective immediately.

The matter was then referred to a Premier League Commission, which confirmed the two-point deduction for Everton.
