Liverpool’s Explanation for Omitting Three First-Team Stars from Champions League Squad – Mirror Online

Jurgen Klopp doesn’t need to make drastic changes as he aims for success in his first season at Anfield. While there are some notable omissions from the initial squad, it’s not a cause for concern. The squad is limited to 25 players, with eight spots reserved for locally trained players, half of whom must be club-trained.

Additionally, the B-list has no size limit as long as players meet certain criteria. Players can be added to the B-list until 24.00 CET the day before a match. UEFA’s rules stipulate that a player can be on List B if they were born on or after 1 January 2003 and have been eligible to play for the club for an uninterrupted two-year period since their 15th birthday, or three consecutive years with a loan period not exceeding one year to a club in the same association.

Qualifying for the last-16 will require finishing in the top eight of a 36-team league. Additionally, Mirror Football’s new WhatsApp community provides daily content, special offers, promotions, and exclusive content from partners. Pre-orders are available for the upcoming Thursday, May 16.
