Steve Bruce, former Man Utd icon, returns to work as League One club appoints ex-Newcastle boss.

Steve Bruce has been appointed as the manager of Blackpool, marking his return to football after almost two years without a club. The 63-year-old previously managed West Bromwich Albion before taking charge of Blackpool. He expressed his delight in taking on the position and thanked the club’s management for the opportunity.

Blackpool owner Simon Sadler highlighted Bruce’s capabilities in developing both players and coaches, emphasizing his organized approach and desire to build a hardworking and entertaining team. Sadler also mentioned the opportunity for former players, including Steve Agnew, to learn and grow in their coaching careers under Bruce’s guidance. At the time of Bruce’s arrival, Blackpool was placed 22nd in League One, having drawn twice and lost twice so far in the season.
