Jermaine Jenas: Latest updates on former England star fired by BBC – Mirror Online

The BBC recently announced that Jermaine Jenas was no longer part of their presenting line-up for The One Show, as well as being removed from Match of the Day, after being a regular on both shows. The decision came after allegations of workplace misconduct, particularly relating to digital communications, including unsolicited texts. These allegations prompted the removal of a large mural featuring Jenas’ face outside the BBC’s Quay House HQ in Salford.

Following these reports, more women came forward amid the investigation into his conduct. The BBC made a brief statement confirming Jenas’ dismissal, citing allegations involving digital communications that were raised with the corporation a few weeks prior. Minutes before the news emerged, BBC’s head of sport sent out a message to staff informing them of the decision, emphasizing the need for legal handling of the situation.

TalkSPORT, on the other hand, stated that they were made aware of the story while Jenas was on air but opted to continue allowing him to present the show amid the allegations. However, there were no plans for him to present other shows in the immediate future. In light of these developments, Jenas’ future with TNT Sports, where he has spent the last year fronting coverage of the Formula E season, remains uncertain.

Additionally, he will no longer appear on shows such as BBC Radio 5Live and Match of the Day 2. Reports have also mentioned Jenas’ personal life, including his marriage to Ellie Penfold for the last 13 years and their three children. There have been claims that he has discussed the allegations with his wife and is deeply unhappy about the situation.
