Daniel Sturridge, a former Liverpool and England forward, made predictions before the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Just before kick-off, he tweeted that Sane would be a big problem for Bayern and predicted a goal for him and a penalty for Kane. He then predicted a 2-2 or 3-2 score in favor of Bayern, noting that there would be “goals galore.” Initially, Bayern dominated the match, but Real took the lead against the run of play with Vinicius Junior scoring.
However, Sturridge’s predictions started to come true in the second period as both Leroy Sane and Harry Kane found the net within a few minutes of each other. Sane scored his first goal in 28 games, and Kane converted a penalty after a foul on Musiala. Real managed to equalize with a penalty from Vinicius Junior after a foul by Kim Min-jae. With the draw in the first leg, Real are now the favorites going into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu as they aim for their 15th European crown.
It remains to be seen what Sturridge predicts for the next match.
