Fulham FC has entered into a sanction agreement with the Premier League due to breaches of the Premier League Rules related to player registrations. As part of the agreement, the club will receive a six-month ban, suspended for one year, from registering any academy players currently or previously registered with another club.
Additionally, the club is required to pay a £75,000 fine, and the suspended registrations ban began on 15 April 2024. The sanction agreement has been ratified by three members of the Independent Judicial Panel as per Premier League Rules.
The announcement is part of the sanction agreement with the Premier League over settlement payments for Carvalho, which were believed to have breached the rules. Carvalho, a Portugal Under 21 international, had limited playing time at Fulham, starting only four Premier League matches and making 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.
He was recalled to Liverpool in January and subsequently went on loan to Championship team Hull, where he has made a strong impression. Carvalho has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances, playing a key role in Hull’s push for promotion.
Hull boss Liam Rosenior praised Carvalho’s work ethic and dedication, emphasizing his humble mentality and strong work ethic. He spoke highly of Carvalho’s commitment, mentioning that the player is often seen putting in extra training and taking care of his equipment, reflecting a strong dedication to his craft.
