Cook spent 18 months with Forest after joining the Midlands side in January 2022, helping them to promotion that same year. But the Terriers were left feeling hard done by following a number of controversial decisions.
During the victory parade which followed Forest’s win, Cook alluded to the incidents and the officiating team. The Englishman praised VAR, though did later admit that his feelings can change depending on the game.
The love for VAR comes and goes. If there was no VAR in the final there still wouldn’t of been a pen.
The Midlands side posted an extraordinary tweet on Sunday slamming VAR Stuart Atwell after their defeat to Everton. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him.
Our patience has been tested multiple times. “It tells you where we are in the Premier League now, with the clubs.
But that, what I’ve just read there on social media, that’s like a fan in a pub. That is embarrassing for Nottingham Forest.
I get the frustrations, but that rubbish about the VAR is a Luton fan? “You can’t get involved in that.
You’ve got to show a little bit of class if you are a football club. I get it, the frustration, the officials have had an awful day, terrible.
But you can’t get involved in that. It’s nonsense!”
