Arsenal and Manchester City suffered disappointing exits from the Champions League quarter-finals, which has resulted in substantial financial losses for both clubs. Each club stands to lose up to €32.5m (£28m) in prize money as a result. The four quarter-final winners, including Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, have earned €12.5m (£10.8m) from UEFA’s prize pool.

The eventual finalists are expected to make €15.5m each, with the winners receiving an additional €4.5m (£3.9m). In contrast, Aston Villa has earned a significantly lower amount of €10.4m (£9m) due to the significantly smaller prize pool in the Conference League compared to the main competition.
