David Beckham and Roy Hodgson have arrived in Sweden for Sven-Goran Eriksson’s funeral. The former England captain landed at Karlstad Airport on a private jet, expressing his surreal feelings about the funeral and uncertainty about the family’s preparations for the day.
Beckham had a close relationship with Sven, having been made permanent England captain by the Swede, and paid a visit to him earlier in the summer. Upon arrival, Beckham exited the aircraft and was driven to passport control before leaving the airport through a back entrance to avoid fans.
Hodgson, speaking in Swedish, praised Sven as a good man who had a significant impact on football and Swedish football, highlighting his warm and caring nature during his last years in Sunne.
