Man Utd fully supports Erik ten Hag as pressure mounts after Liverpool loss – Mirror Online

United’s new hierarchy have decided to stick with manager Erik ten Hag, even as the team continues to struggle. The club triggered a clause in Ten Hag’s contract, extending his deal until 2026, despite considering potential replacements over the summer. Although calls for Ten Hag to be sacked have intensified following a defeat to Liverpool, United’s CEO Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth reiterated their support for the 54-year-old manager.

Berrada stated that the decision to extend Ten Hag’s contract was made before their rivals, and they are pleased with it. Berrada and Ashworth confirmed their belief in Ten Hag, expressing their commitment to working closely with him to achieve better results. They emphasized that they fully support the manager and believe he is the right choice for the club, even in the face of poor performance.

Ashworth clarified that he had no input in the decision to retain Ten Hag, as he joined the club after the decision had been made. However, he expressed his enjoyment in working with Ten Hag and his intent to support the manager in various aspects of the team’s operations. The new hierarchy’s strong backing of Ten Hag contrasts with the growing calls for his dismissal, indicating their confidence in his ability to turn the team’s fortunes around.
