United’s players had a hectic and draining US tour last year, playing pre-season friendlies in various cities and fulfilling commercial and sponsorship demands. The squad felt the travel was excessive, with many players reaching a tipping point due to the long flights and short stays in different cities.
This year, the team has taken a different approach, reducing travel by basing themselves in Los Angeles and having just a few games in nearby locations. Erik ten Hag, a member of the team, expressed that this pre-season felt less stressful than the previous year.
He noted that last year’s tour had a strong focus on sponsorship activities, while the football aspect was somewhat overshadowed. This time, the team’s focus has shifted more towards football, which he appreciates.
Eriksen pointed out that last year’s tour felt overwhelming due to the constant change in environments, frequent flights, and short stays in different places. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that this year’s tour feels different, with a more distinct emphasis on the football aspect.
He also mentioned the strong emotions surrounding the club, with people either deeply loving or strongly disliking it. Eriksen highlighted that as a United player for the next year, he finds the intense emotions towards the club to be noticeable.
Additionally, Eriksen mentioned a special offer for community members and addressed those who may not be interested in the community.
