Riccardo Calafiori, a 22-year-old footballer, has signed a contract with Arsenal after a deal worth around €50million (£42m) was agreed with Bologna, his former club. Calafiori, who joined Bologna from Basel last summer, will now join Arsenal’s pre-season tour in the United States to meet his new teammates.
Sporting Director Edu expressed his satisfaction with the transfer, highlighting Calafiori’s qualities and experience. He also emphasized Calafiori’s consistency and strong performances for his club and the Italian national team.
The coaching staff is eager to start working with Calafiori and look forward to seeing him play for Arsenal. Following the completion of the deal for Calafiori, Arsenal is anticipated to pursue midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad, who also impressed during Euro 2024.
Arsenal considers the 28-year-old playmaker as a primary target and expects him to depart from Spain this summer. In addition to these football developments, the community is informed about special offers, promotions, and advertisements from Arsenal and its partners.
