Manchester United is set to embark on a £50m project to upgrade its Carrington training ground. The club has announced that it has appointed the architect firm of Manchester-born Lord Norman Foster to oversee the renovations. This development is a significant move forward under the new part-owners INEOS.

The corporation, headed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, acquired a quarter of the club in December and has assumed responsibility for all footballing matters. INEOS has expressed a clear intention to make substantial investments in improving the club’s infrastructure, following the example of several rival clubs that have made strides in recent years. Upon conducting a comprehensive review of the Carrington training facilities and consulting with the men’s first-team players, it became evident that the standards had fallen below those of some of their peers.

The aim of the project is to modernize and revitalize the building with a view to fostering future footballing success. The plan includes creating spaces that promote a culture of collaboration, unity, and belonging within the club. Furthermore, the club has also announced special offers, promotions, and advertisements for its community members and partners.
