Mourinho and former Man Utd player to reunite at new club, despite previous aversion – Mirror Online

Fenerbahce have just narrowly missed out in an epic title race and Ismail Kartal is set to pay the price. Mourinho will be tasked with ending a decade-long wait for a Super Lig title as he takes charge of his 11th different team and looks to land success in another European league having lifted trophies in Portugal, England, Spain and Italy.

The Brazilian midfielder has just finished his first year in Turkey but was reportedly never wanted by Mourinho, who ended up sanctioning his arrival. A switch to Turkey will also allow Mourinho to work with Edin Dzeko.

Michy Batshuayi is another forward option for the Special One. Ex-Rangers winger Ryan Kent is also on the club’s books.

The ex-Chelsea boss was linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia and was reportedly the subject of an offer, which he opted to turn down as he chose to remain managing in Europe. Mourinho confessed earlier this year that he was targeting a return to the dugout come the summer, insisting he didn’t need to spend time away from the game.

In this case, one day after I left I was ready to go. “I am really ready but I don’t want to make the wrong choice, but I cannot make the wrong choice, I cannot accept something just because of the feeling and passion to be back.

I have to be patient. Is something going to happen in March or April?

It is very difficult, my objective is to start next summer.” The Red Dragons have achieved two consecutive promotions and are cheered on by sell-out crowds from not only North Wales but also from all over the globe, thanks to the success of the Disney+ documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
