Manchester United player informed Erik ten Hag of his decision not to participate in FA Cup final.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of the team, revealed prior to the game at Wembley that Casemiro, a player of the team, was not fully fit. Despite this, Casemiro was included on the bench after having started the previous ten matches, seven of which were in central defence. However, Casemiro communicated to ten Hag that he did not wish to participate and subsequently withdrew from the squad entirely.

Willy Kambwala replaced him among the substitutes. Following the game, Casemiro made a brief appearance at the post-season party before leaving swiftly on a private plane with his family for a vacation. Additionally, the 32-year-old has been omitted from the Brazil squad for the Copa America due to his subpar performance at United this season.

On a positive note, the Red Devils delivered an impressive performance, securing a victory over City and claiming their second major trophy in two years after winning the Carabao Cup in February 2023. Following the FA Cup triumph, Ten Hag expressed his satisfaction with the team’s achievement and praised their potential. He commended the players’ collective effort during the final and highlighted the resilience of the young talents, singling out Kobbie Mainoo who had faced setbacks due to injury during the pre-season.
