Wrexham owners make generous gesture at Las Vegas nightclub as former player returns for promotion celebration – Mirror Online

Wrexham Football Club recently achieved back-to-back promotions for the first time in its 160-year history by finishing as runners-up in League Two. Their celebration in Las Vegas was captured in video footage shared on social media, showing the team being welcomed to the MGM Resort’s Hakkasan Las Vegas with the rendition of ‘Wrexham, We’re the Red Army’ and highlights of their season being played on the big screens.

The atmosphere was jubilant as the players arrived, with a giant Welsh flag being waved in the background. While the club’s co-owners have not appeared on the trip, Scunthorpe’s Liam McAlinden was believed to be part of the celebration tour.

This comes as an enviable consolation for McAlinden, who left Wrexham in February but was recognized for his contributions to the club with an inclusion in the Vegas revelry. Other players who have been released by the club also joined the celebration, making the second edition of the Las Vegas festivities an exciting and full-scale event, mirroring the first.

In the previous season, co-owners McElhenney and Reynolds were part of the celebrations in Sin City. Reynolds had jokingly mentioned sending the squad on a “meditation retreat” the following year if promotion was secured, but it seems the team’s success has led to yet another round of celebrations in Las Vegas.

Wrexham’s popularity in the US has also prompted plans for the team to embark on another US tour, with the women’s team also set to travel stateside to nurture their growing fanbase. The club has not yet confirmed the teams that will compete against their women’s side, but stars Rosie Hughes and Phoebe Davies have committed to the summer adventure.

The success of the Disney+ documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ and the support from sell-out crowds have propelled the club’s popularity not only in North Wales but worldwide. Moreover, ‘Wrexham is the Game,’ a subscription service providing insights and analysis about the club, is available for fans at a discounted price for the first year.
