Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the football operations leader at Manchester United, has issued a directive to the club’s staff to improve their standards after he criticized certain areas of the stadium and training ground as a “disgrace.” This comes after his £1.3 billion investment in the club, prompting him to assess the facilities over a two-day tour.
Following the visit, Ratcliffe sent a direct email to all United staff expressing his dissatisfaction with the untidy scenes and requesting an elevation in cleanliness standards in their respective departments. Ratcliffe specifically highlighted the IT department, describing it as a disgrace, and noted that the dressing rooms of the U18 and U21 were also subpar.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards and discipline within the organization, stating that these qualities are crucial for success. Ratcliffe urged the adoption of proper housekeeping standards throughout the organization.
His message conveyed his expectations for improved cleanliness, drawing a comparison to the standards upheld at INEOS, a chemical company in which he is involved. Ratcliffe’s uncompromising stance underscored the significance of maintaining stringent standards within the club.
