Former Premier League manager Iain Dowie recently expressed gratitude for the swift action and care he received after suffering a serious cardiac arrest during a spin class. The 59-year-old collapsed at his local gym and was promptly taken to the hospital.
He credited the gym staff, ambulance crew, and medical team for their assistance and proactive response. Dowie emphasized his fortunate circumstances, stating that he was in “the right place” to receive immediate help, and explained that he has since had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) fitted to support his heart health for the future.
While acknowledging the fear his wife experienced witnessing the incident, Dowie maintained a positive outlook and expressed thanks for his recovery. Dowie, who currently serves as a director of Northern Irish champions Larne, acknowledged the importance of the timely assistance he received and the positive impact it had on his recovery.
The former manager expressed optimism about his health going forward and credited the medical intervention for enabling him to look to the future with positivity.
