Football agent Saif Rubie has been cleared of sending a threatening email to former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia. The 45-year-old learned of the verdict at Southwark Crown Court on Monday after being tried under the malicious communications act.
Granovskaia testified last week, expressing that she felt “physically threatened” by the email sent by Rubie in relation to the transfer fee for defender Kurt Zouma’s move from Stamford Bridge to West Ham United. Rubie denied the charge, and a jury has acquitted him following a week-long trial.
Upon learning of the decision, he broke down in tears.
