Carlos Tevez, an Argentine, spent a night at a clinic in the San Isidro neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. He was scheduled to undergo additional tests at a nearby hospital on Wednesday. The club released a statement explaining that the coach had sought medical help at the La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro due to chest pain. The tests conducted were satisfactory, and further scheduled tests were to be carried out as part of a general check-up.
Independiente issued a separate statement, indicating that Tevez would remain hospitalized as a precaution until all the necessary tests were completed. There were reports suggesting that his health scare might be related to stress, but Tevez had not made an official statement at the time. It was uncertain whether he would be able to attend the team’s training session later that day. The Finochietto Hospital in Buenos Aires was revealed as the facility where Tevez would undergo additional testing.
Tevez retired in 2021 after a successful career in which he also represented his national team on 76 occasions. Subsequently, he ventured into managerial roles in his home country, starting with Rosario Central before moving on to Independiente. As the manager of Independiente, Tevez has won 13 out of 29 matches and was slated for their upcoming match with Talleres Cordoba on May 12.
