The Norwegian has an impressive record this term, scoring 31 goals in 39 games in all competitions. He still has another three years to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium. But Haaland’s international team-mate Alexander Sorloth has warned him that such a move may cause issues.
“I don’t think there is that much difference between some leagues and others nowadays. I think that is a matter of the media, believe me, I have been in England, in Germany, in Spain… “So of course Haaland would adapt to Spain. Also, when you are a great player like Haaland, you have to adapt to the team, but the team has to adapt to it.
If you remember Ibrahimovic , when he came to Spain he tried to adapt to Barça, but Barça had to adapt to him in many aspects. I’m not going to say the team (laughs). “The level of his general play is so poor – and not just today; his laying stuff off, headers or whatever it might be.
“Not just today. He has to improve that. He’s almost like a League Two player – that’s the way I look at him.
His general play has to improve. It will do over the next few years. [He’s a] brilliant striker but he has to prove his overall game.
Has to.”
