Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is facing a lawsuit from a physical therapist who alleges he was attacked by the footballer’s dog. The therapist, Saeid Motaali, claims that Nelson’s Italian mastiff bit him, causing injuries that have prevented him from working since the incident in 2020. Nelson has denied the accusation, but Motaali’s legal team asserts that the attack occurred when Motaali attempted to take a picture of the dog.
It is claimed that the dog, trained as a guard dog, showed aggression and bit Motaali on the arm. The lawsuit has been filed at the High Court, with Motaali being represented by law firm Fieldfisher. The claim alleges that Nelson failed to control his dog and that the dog’s behavior resulted in the therapist’s injuries.
Motaali had been Nelson’s sports massage therapist for approximately three years prior to the incident, and it took place at Nelson’s home. In addition to the civil lawsuit, Nelson is also facing a trial at Hendon Magistrates’ Court for being in charge of a dog that caused injury while dangerously out of control. The trial was delayed to gather more evidence.
