The German giants are heading to north London for the first leg of the quarter-final, but without their fans due to a UEFA ban imposed after incidents involving fireworks during earlier away games. There are concerns that German supporters may try to attend the game by purchasing tickets in the home end, despite measures taken by Arsenal to police ticket sales and transfers.
Arsenal has implemented strict measures to prevent away fans from attending the match, including suspending season-ticket holders or members found to be in possession of an away fan. Additionally, the club has restricted ticket sales to new members who registered after a certain date and has limited ticket transfers to recipients who created their accounts before that date.
Bayern Munich has advised their fans not to travel to London. The club has been allocated only around 200 tickets for a small group of friends and family, as well as 20 senior club officials in the directors’ box at the Emirates.
Despite this, Bayern will be seeking to reach a Champions League semi-final for the first time since 2009, while Arsenal aims to avenge their poor record against the German team, who have won the last three encounters 5-1. Bayern heads to London in disarray after a recent loss, with their manager’s departure at the end of the season making European success their last hope for silverware.
